Bob Pinnell sadly passed away in his family home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland 28/05/2020 at 66 years of age. It was sudden and unexpected because he was in reasonably good health for his age.

That same month the famous yellow once registered by Bob in NSW as ‘Capri8’ was featured in Killer Rides magazine #24 online at www.killerrides.com.au in its latest form. The 1970 Capri initially had a 351 ci Windsor with a c4, but new owner, Daniel Hawes, has stroked to 434 ci with GM powerglide.

This is the end of an era for Cortina Capri V8 Conversions engineered and hand fabricated by Bob Pinnell as well as his endless knowledge and advice on the subject.

I know when I get around to sorting out Dads things, that he had a few Ford Windsor V8 bellhousing to GM powerglide adaptor plate kits that if you have an interest in please PM me. I’m not sure about conversion related parts as I think engine mounts, gearbox crossmembers and sumps were modified on an exchange basis.

PS I am Bob’s son, Robert Pinnell Junior.
