Hello, does anyone know with the 250 Non-X-Flow Log Motor what type of Con-Rods did they have?Forged or Cast etc.Can the Internals of a Non-X-Flow be used in a X-Flow?Thanks for the Tips and Answers! |

Same rods I do believe they are forged.Rods pistons and crank are the same I believe.
Cam is different as to the valve order.

We were going to build a 221 Crossflow a few years ago to get around the bad stroke/rod length ratio of the 250/4.1 and the gutless issue of the 200/3.3
Got as far as getting an alloy head 200 from an XF but never pulled the 221 apart to gut it.

221 rods and crank will not fit a X flow block. If the X flow deck height was the same as the old XR-T-W block it would be a good performer.
But even if you could work out a piston or rod to work the deck is to high.
XY on mains are bigger I think.

Pity we never got far enough to discover that as my brother ended up building a tough 4.1 for it.
