I just got offered an EB 25th anniversary wagon on gas for$1500.00,it's in really good condition but has noisy lifters and needs the rear main seal replaced, other than that it drives great and has been well looked after. However the fella selling it says that the noisy lifters are due to a plastic component in the lifters having worn out and that this is common to these engines. Is this true,as i can easily fit some new lifters but i've never heard of this and don't know if it's bullshit. Also are the EB's a decent sort of car.Any replies most appreciated.

the lifters r no big deal to replace they are located in the end of the rocker arm. remove the rocker gear and push them out with a small punch or screw driver, they can be stuck sometimes and need abit of a tap. then put the new ones in and put it back 2g
