340 HP on a Fighting attacker changes the whole prize math, and that's why the Mega Lucario ex deck has been everywhere since Pulsing Aura landed in May 2026. If you're grinding ranked or trying to buy Pokemon TCG Pocket Items to finish the list faster, the short version is simple: Mega Lucario ex is an A-Tier brawler that farms a lot of ex-heavy decks, but it still has to respect Darkrai, Mega Altaria ex, and bench snipe nonsense. I like it more than I expected.

Best Mega Lucario ex deck plan in Pokemon TCG PocketThe core is Riolu into Mega Lucario ex, usually ASC 113, and you're playing toward one clean burst turn. Aura Jab hits for 50-plus and helps set Energy on the Bench, which matters because this deck eats Energy like I eat misplays on ladder. Mega Brave is the punch people fear: 250 damage in the current reported build, though I've still seen 210 listed in a few places, so take that with a grain of salt until the client text settles. At 250, Basic ex and most Stage 1 ex Pokémon just fold.

Why Mega Lucario ex got better after Gardevoir ex rotatedI burned through a bunch of games after the May 2026 Pulsing Aura release, and the biggest shift was obvious: no Gardevoir ex sitting there making Fighting decks feel like a bad joke. Psychic weakness used to punish Lucario before it could trade prizes. Now, the Mega Lucario ex deck gets to do what it wants more often: take hits, swing back, and force awkward turns. It's not S-Tier, no shot, but A-Tier feels right.

Solrock and Lunatone are the smoother build if you hate dead hands. Lunatone's Lunar Cycle lets you pitch Energy to draw, which sounds risky until you remember Night Stretcher can pull back key pieces later. Hariyama from MEG 73 is the spicy bit. Evolving into it pops Heave-Ho Catcher, dragging something soft like Fezandipiti ex or Meowth ex Active without burning your Supporter, and that one tempo swing wins games you had no business stealing.

Damage breakpoints, ACE SPEC picks, and Fighting support250 damage is good. It's also annoying. Stage 2 ex Pokémon sitting around 280 to 330 HP don't care about “good” unless you stack help, so Premium Power Pro from MEG 124 and Gravity Mountain from SSP 177 are the cards that push your math into real KO range. Secret Box is my favorite ACE SPEC because it grabs an Item, Tool, Supporter, and Stadium in one go, which sets up those gross “fine, I guess I win now” turns. Maximum Belt is fun into ex boards, Hero's Cape makes Lucario even chunkier, and Scoop Up Cyclone has a real job if you're trying to reset damage or reuse Hariyama.

Common Mega Lucario ex mistakes to avoidDon't over-bench Solrock and Lunatone into Suicune ex or Mega Slowbro ex. I learned that the dumb way. You also don't always lead Lucario, even if your brain screams “big card go bonk”; Hariyama or another single-prize opener can mess with the prize trade and buy a safer setup turn. Rocky Fighting Energy is a no-brainer against Alakazam lists because it blocks damage counter placement from Powerful Hand, and Judge is worth saving when Mewtwo ex or Psychic-energy Darkrai starts lining up a nasty hand.

I'm not sold on every flex slot yet, mostly because Mega Lucario ex retreat cost still isn't clearly documented everywhere and match data into Mega Altaria ex or Suicune ex is thin this patch cycle. Your mileage may vary with Hitmonlee, Arena of Antiquity, and Korrina in the aggro-bench snipe version, but that build has teeth if your ladder pocket is full of support Pokémon hiding on the Bench. If you're missing older Mega Evolution support like Fighting Gong or Night Stretcher, services such as RSVSR can be handy for players buying game items or currency, though I'd still test the list before dumping resources into every shiny variant. The deck rewards tight Energy planning more than raw spending.
