My HQ ute project had an aftermarket brake master cylinder which I replaced with a Flexibledrive unit that looks the same as what most vendors are selling. It has the larger reservoir at the end closest to the booster although the reservoirs are not totally walled off from each other. The larger outlet bore for the larger flare nut is also at the rear, ie closest to the brake booster.

Would I be correct in assuming, as I have connected, that the larger flare nut is for the rear circuit?

That is most likely the later HZ style, they swapped the reservoirs around. Easiest way is get some brake lines off a later HZ. Just check that there is a drum check valve in the circuit you use for the rears.

Thanks HK18937. I am sure that there is only a check valve in the rear most outlet. Would I be correct in saying that the larger 9/16" outlet is always for the rear brakes regardless of the orientation? I purchased HJ lines and with some gentle persuasion they went in fine.
