I was going to do a lot of the metal work myself and i have a good friend who will prep and paint the car. I thought good ones were up to $80k? Is this colour combo rare or desired? I haven't seen any for sale while I've been looking the last few months, that's all. I'm very new to these models though! No good, not taken from the angle I said. Good cars are $80K but they are original and complete. You are talking about building a car with nothing matching and no provenance. That is quickly going to cost you a lot and lot of time. Not saying it can’t be done and it’s not worth doing it. Just everything you need to buy is going to be well over $25k and that is without spending a cent on resto work or labour. All the paint products alone will run into $1000’s. There is a lot of hours in panel prep and paint. If you want to build it you are better off not paying the “original or period correct” game and building it modified. Will cost you less, take far less time and probably be a nicer car to drive. Think injected engine, overdrive auto, better brakes etc. This does make sense..
