Toranafest 2009http://www.toranafest.com.auFollowing on from the huge successes of last years Toranafest, we come together again in 2009 to celebrate Toranas massive successes in motorsport. Toranas invlovment in motorsport started with the humble HB, back in 1967, and carried through for another 13 years with the legendary A9X. That record has only been surpassed by the Holden Commodore.
We will see a host of old race and rally cars, as well as a large number of race replicas that are proving more and more popular these days. With last years numbers topping a record breaking 227 entrants, we see this trend continuing in 2009 as interest in Toranafest grows more and more.
With cars coming for the event from as far north as Queensland, and as far south as Victoria and Tasmania, Toranafest enjoys a national following not normally shown to regional car shows in Newcastle. As it is the only annual Torana only car show on the east coast of Australia, it is the Torana Mecca for enthusiasts.
As usual, due to Toranafest being located on Newcastles Foreshore, spectator numbers will be in the thousands and once again, the Old Fox, Harry Firth will be back as well as many other notable legends of motorsport, like Colin Bond, and Des West, to make this a truly memorable day for Torana enthusiasts.
