Hi there - I am looking at buying a 1973 HQ Statesman Deville in mint condition apart from a few very minor marks on the body. Car has done 70 000 original miles. Can anyone please advise what they think I should pay for a car in this condition. The owner wants $12 000 for it.
Thanks a lot, Dave

unfortunatly for the owner they really arent in that league price wise yet..and i doubt they will be for a while....i would halve that and maybe add a little more as its really hard to give an accurate price without viewing the car...BUT in saying this... |

I guess the pricing also depends on the options ... is it 350? T-bar auto? Power windows? Factory air? Brocade trim? etc etc ...

Dr Terry, Ive got black brocade trim in my HQ Statesman, quite a rare option.
In my opinion Dave, if youre going to invest in a HQ Statesman, wait for something in the same condition as that, but with a few more options. $12k would get you an original

Aha! My defintion of brocade was gleaned from the motoring magazines of the era so more than likely incorrect!
Does anyone know if this material (for the HQ) is still available?

I always thought it was Brocade too, interesting! Its more like "printed/patterned vinyl" than cloth though - I dont think there is any cloth in mine. Dr Terry is the Devereaux what I describe above or actually made out of cloth like the earlier HQ trim?
