You know there is an old saying, You can please most of the people most of the time but not all of the people all of the time.
I cannot understand why some restorers go to all of the trouble to paint a vehicle only to fit badges that regularly chip the paint when fitting them. If it does not fit and it is the best available, remove the pins and glue the badges with an appropriate adhesive. After all when will you have to remove it again? Less holes, less places for moisture, less likelihood of rust. Why do all of the badges on new vehicles stick on?

witout prejudice, maybe your ford ute is rough enough to stick together with double sided tape?? maybe you should sikaflex bumpers & panels on to eliminate bolts rusting. & less weight

with a bit more competition out there now the quality is improving as people now have more than one (take it or go without) choice

Ouch!! I obviously have the opposition to Rare Spares here. There is a huge gap between using an adhesive to fasten a badge or moulding on a vehicle, to sticking bumpers and body panel on with double side tape.

Adhesives have become the norm in the manufacture of new vehicles. Spot welding of doors, boots and bonnets are a thing of the past.
The modern restorer, especially the restorer trying to do the best he can whilst learning on the job can be helped by new technology.I was metal finishing and lead loading panels before plastic filler arrived. Thank goodness we move with the times and embraced new technology as it arrived. Drilling holes in new panels can sometimes be similar to jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft and parachuting to the ground. There is always a risk of something going wrong.
I will now put on my slippers and sit back in my armchair and wait for your "Without Prejudice" answer.

Mate I am no expert but have a 2005 Commodore and 2010 Navara and both have spot welding all over them so I don't know why you think it is a thing of the past. Without spot welding I expect that they would fall apart.

you should be greatful that its available....im sure if they were exactly spot on, they would cost twice as much...then you would just winge that they are too expensive and you wont buy one, and just spend your time on here calling them rip offs...

bite the bullet mate.

im not biting any bullets!!!

i have just had the "5 LITRE" badge remade & it will not dissapoint!!!

garrentee the pins will line up correctly in your original holes

my badge has correct curvature & will follow the contour of your original guard

colour is correct & will not flake or chip off

& is the same size in all dimentions (not 5% smaller as every one ive seen)

of course all this comes at a price, but i assure you its worth the extra

ive only done a small run of these to test the waters.

price is $69.95ea

Dave thanks for the 5 litre badges - the arrived today and are fantastic. Excellent job. Yes they cost a bit more then the other reproduction badges, but are much better quality. Maybe Rare Spares could become a reseller for you?

Just taken delivery of the new Monaro script badges from Dirty Davo. Great quality. I can barely detect them from a NOS original. Nearly sold out of 5 Litre guard badges too. They fit nice and snug into the original holes. Great product!
