I just got offered an EB 25th anniversary wagon on gas for$1500.00,it's in really good condition but has noisy lifters and needs the rear main seal replaced, other than that it drives great and has been well looked after. However the fella selling it says that the noisy lifters are due to a plastic component in the lifters having worn out and that this is common to these engines. Is this true,as i can easily fit some new lifters but i've never heard of this and don't know if it's bullshit. Also are the EB's a decent sort of car.Any replies most appreciated.

The EB is a good car & in my opinion the EB2-ED are by far the best of the E series. The lifters could be a problem I had them replaced in my EF when it was 6 months old (Warranty of course). Having said that my EB2 has done 390,000 with it's original

Thanks for the replies fellas.I was told the car is an EB,it has 30th anniversary badges and is silver. It sounds like the lifter fix is what i was told then, the kit for $120 sounds about right, but $120 a lifter is pretty steep, but then again i've heard VL
