Some time back I ordered a 'HQ 202 High Compression' rocker cover decal for my new engine.(RCD1001 in the Rares online catalogue).

If you compare the font used for the numbers in the high compression decal with the font used in the low compression decal (RCD 1002), they are clearly very different.
The numbers in the high comp decal are too small and too rounded and don't match my original factory decal at all.
The low comp decal, however , appears to be a perfect reproduction of the original with the numbers being an exact match to those used on the '202' boot lid badge.
Would it be possible to redo the high decal to correct this?

I know its only a decal, but it does sit in a prominent place on the engine and the current one is not an accurate reproduction of the original. If you are going to do it, it really should look right.

Cheers

Richard

You are correct if we are going to make something we should make it correctly something we endeavour to do. In this case the volume is very small and it is not worth making so we buy them in to try and service the customer. If a part is already on the market we assume it is correct in this case we assumed wrongly and now we face a dilemma do we have something for the customer or nothing. If you are not satisfied with this product you can return it for a refund. I will also inform our supplier that their product is incorrect.

Hi Les
I totally accept what you are saying about demand levels and agree that having something for the customer is better than nothing.
But the point is that the 202LC and also the 173HC and LC decals appear much more accurate reproductions than the 202HC.
Was wondering if it would be possible to re-do the 202HC to the same high standard as the other 3 in the series.

Cheers

Hi Richard
As I said we buy these in we do not make them, I have passed the information onto the manufacture and await his reply. Although I think he will tell me he made a batch and that will be the last batch he makes as they are slow.
