Les, I purchased a rares console lid and hinge recently. Went to fit it today, an easy job I thought, but the holes in the hinge don't line up with the holes in the lid. Using the centre holes as a datum, the end holes are about half a hole out. The hinge also doesn't line up with the (original) holes in the console either. The only fix is to start filing out the hinge holes.
It's great that Rares are reproing bits for these cars, but they have to be correct. I've had problems with Bailey Channels, Door Belts, Bonnet Pull Cable and now this Hinge thing. Must say however, the Air Cleaner decal I bought fits perfectly.

We have checked all the hinges in stock and found them to be ok ( the holes may vary a little but not 1/2 a hole) . I will send you a new hinge if you tell me who and where to send it to at no charge.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Les. Thanks for the offer. I'll be away for a few weeks so don't need it urgently. Can I suggest that I send you the lid and hinge so you can confirm where the problem lies, then you send me the lid and a replacement hinge. Just need your address if you agree to do this.

Les,
As agreed, I sent the hinge and lid to Lance Corby on 31 March. In my covering letter I asked that replacements be sent so that I have them by 20 April. I've heard nothing from Lance Corby and have not received replacements. Could you please follow up.
