Looking for some pre-purchase comfort on a Torana for sale that I have my eye on. Can someon eplease help decode the VIN. I'm getting conflicting info on whether its the "P" or"PC" re engine size. Would love decoding of the lot if possible. Thanks

You need photos of all tags and the chassis number plus engine number. So many dodgy examples of these out there.

Best bet. I no longer assist with this sort of stuff privately, has to be in public where everything is witnessed.

I’ll have a look at them tomorrow when on a big screen.

pic is of an engine number that starts with NP

from memory that is a Nasco engine number but will check my XU1 supplement in the morning .
Basically NP was a Holden replacement block used when original JP XU1 engines blew up Whistle

Yes NP is a Nasco replacement block, JP was the factory fitted block. The P in the VIN indicates an XU1 engine & the C is the model year, i.e. it was built between 1/9/72 & 30/8/73.

Word of warning though. Numbers alone do not make the car, get a 'person of knowledge' to check the whole car out thoroughly, before handing over the cash.
