Good luck! Probably the hardest heads for a GMH assembled Holden with a SBC design engine. It took me about 25 years to find a pair to go with the Pagewood engine I found in the 90’s. And I found them by chance on a HK 307 engine, would have only had about 8:1 or so compression.
Silly thing is they probably would have been reasonably common in North America as they would have been used on 2 barrel 8:1 and 8.5:1 truck 350 engines out of the Canadian engine plant. What I bet happened is all those trucks once wrecked saw the engines bought for their 4 bolt blocks and the heads were scrapped as no one wanted 76cc, small port, small valve heads. What also wouldn’t have helped them is like the lowest performance 265/283 heads there was no cast mark and that also would have seen people throw them away. Even in Australia just about every engine I’ve ever seen has had the 188’s replaced by Fuelies too.

When John Cain shut down I went through all the old SBC heads left behind. I found 3-4 sets of 290 cast heads that I think Cainy probably traded in off GTS327 owners cover the years when they bought Fuelies off him. They had never been used for obvious reasons, they were a low performance head. One pair are too early to be off a Holden so came off an Impala, Parisienne or off an engine Cainy imported. Unfortunately I was only looking for single hump heads, there were no 041’s left as being Fuelies they had been used. I ignored at least one pair of 188’s, there may have been more, however given how rare 188’s are on Aussie built cars compared to 290’s (about 10:1) I doubt there would have been any more.
I have seen evidence on forums of people finding them in North America but in most cases people have told them to scrap them and buy better heads. Plus a lot of the time they are actually 3927186 heads and the 6 on the end is cast like an 8, the giveaway is the 186 head is Saginaw cast and Flint V8 machined so doesn’t have Canada on it, the ends have double humps and the ports and intake valves are bigger. Have a look at the last photo on this link for example:
http://67-72chevytrucks..../showthread.php?t=437825

There is also a lot of wrong info out there on 188’s, US sites always say they are off 1969 307 and 327/235. That is not the case as the 1969 307 was 8.75:1 and the 327/235 was 9.0:1 so the heads on both of them had to be 69-70cc which means 3927185 heads or the equivalents from the other foundries. The 3927185 is the 1969 (accessory holes) version of the 1968 290 and 032 (Tonawanda and McKinnon versions of the same part number).

We had a pair of 188's come through our cylinder head shop only 6 months ago. I picked what they were while stll at the front counter as I first noticed the 1.72 valves combined with the large chamber, I then rolled them over and saw CANADA between the rocker bosses, looked to the other end to confirm the cast number. Wanting to ensure these heads were appreciated for what they were I followed up with our client and yes they were going onto a Monaro.
There will be heads out there, be patient, ask everyone you can think of and wait and see.

Crazy isn’t it. The lowest performance head fitted to any GMH assembled Holden with a SBC design engine. And to procure a pair will cost you more than a pair of correct heads for a Z/28 Camaro or even L88 alloy heads for a 427 Corvette.
