Very rare item, considering many HXs & virtually all HZs had car radios as standard.

The silver ones were fitted at the factory to commercials, Base Kingswoods & Belmonts.

The black & timber ones were very rare & only fitted to GTSs, Premiers & Statesmans where the buyer deliberately deleted the radio from a retail order.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the flesh. And I’ve been looking at these things as new cars, in wrecking yards, used car yards and back yard wreckers since the early 80’s. If they were only fitted as a delete item on Retail orders then you are looking at a 1 in many 1000’s item. Maybe 10000’s.

I've learnt a lot about these things from this query.

AFAIK for HK/HT/HG they are not a separate item. To fit a radio you need to cut out the blank with a knife (or similar), it is a cast part of the centre facia.

Same goes for HJ & LH.

HQ's blank is a glued in part of the main instrument facia. It only comes with the facia.

LX must be the same cut-out arrangement as LH, but UC list the same black panel as HZ.

I've got a blank off Panel but it's for a Heater Delete Section on a HK-G Belmont or Kingswood.
Probably used on Northern Territory or Asian HK-G's.
