I have a WH Caprice 5.7V8, lit up the engine management/check light on the dash today. It has 202,000km, just bought the car but appears to have been serviced, whatever that means (it has partial service history and a current service sticker).

I have a ScanGaugeII, which I plugged in when I got home and restarted the engine... but no light on the dash and no trouble codes stored on the ScanGauge... so has anyone had spurious codes on a LS1 before and does it mean something in particular?

Thanks,

Phil.

PS: My WB Deville (soon to be restored): 126 (tired)kW; the Caprice: 225kW. A slight difference...

No the LS1 works fine with the ScanGauge. I owned a VY 3.8V6 and it didn't work on that though.

Haven't seen the warning light come on again so all good so far.

220kW not 225kW as I wrote before. What was I thinking...
