have an oil leak from apparently the rear of the sump on the Vs series 2.
what is the most likely cause/fix, can the sump be dropped while in the car?
thanks

first check oil leaks are not coming from the top i.e rocker covers intake manifiold gaskets etc, i used to do heaps of these at holden under warranty when they were new, undo the engine mounts jack the engine up insert a small block of wood between frame and mounts remove the jack remove all sump bolts and turn the crank over by hand untill it reaches a point where the sump will come out, i.e sump will only come out with the crank in a certain spot, also can leak at rear main and the back plat which holds the seal, i call the buick v6 a seive lol

sorry forgot it was vr can get the sump out the same but it wont have the plate on the back of the engine, just the seal on v.r can leak between the rear main cap and block, some times it just easier to pull the engine and do a complete reseal
