On a V6, it's below the brake booster, just above the chassis rail, and has 4 hoses going into it.

You can't block it - the 4-way valve works to direct water through the core when open, and re-route it back through the motor when closed.

If the butterfly inside the valve is corroded away, then it will let the heater all the time, so maybe that could be your issue.
Cheers,

Mick

I think we should make a gentlemans agreement to refer to engines as 'engines' and only use 'motor' when we are talking about washing machines, heater motors, wiper motors etc.

In my opinion Bob, you are a moron.

What would you say if I said you are a moron?

I'd say you're a bit of a try-hard with no real skills or imagination (or education). Why do you ask? Do you think that your opinion is especially valid (or of any importance to me) or that your sig which needs to be posted every time you comment makes you especially significant? What a man!

If anyone's a moron, Pete, you are way closer to fitting the bill.

dear bob . no.
for the record, a gentleman's agreement is an agreement between two people who are neither gentleman nor who intend to keep it.
