Hi All,

I just replaced the window rollers on my hq coupe 1/4 windows and i am still having problems with the window tipping forward and leaving a gap to the rubber seal. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to solve it? looking at the design the runner seems to provide little support in this direction and the regulator is encouraging the window to tip forwards. any help would be appreciated because I have been puzzling over this for a long time.

Thanks

Brenton

I had this problem, found one set of glass would sit tightly on the runner and not move, but a different glass would move at the top.

I changed the metal bracket on the glass of the "tight" glas onto the "loose" glass and this did not fix the problem.

I adjusted the rollers as close as possible and it was a little better. The plan is to make larger rollers for the loose glass.

The reason we persisted with the loose glass was it was factory tint and the tight glass was not.

So I have no answer, just know the problem you have.

Sometimes the rollers have worn tracks into the brackets. I could not get mine to fit until I welded a thin strip of metal on to the tracks to make the window "park" at the right angle.
You could also fill the tracks with a weld for a similar result.

This was not the problm with mine, one window fine on the track the other no good, changed rollers, still no good.

It had me stumped, and still does, as to wy the tinted glass would not fit properly, but the non tint was fine.

Anyway, the only way to fix is to get bigger rollers made or modify the track.
