Afternoon all,
I've had my Premier resprayed with 2 pack PPG, very happy with the job. One thing that I want to prevent happening this time is the petrol splashing down the rear quarter panel from the filler cap. I was thinking of puting a baffle of some type in the filler pipe, possibly something from a later model car. Anyone tried doing this?

I'm no expert on these, but I would think that a baffle in the neck would make it nearly impossible to fill quickly with the resulting wash back and shut off at the pump. Baffles in the tank might be a better option

As a bowzer boy, (age showing here)there were many models that were impossible to fill due to anti siphon theft baffles in the filling neck.

A non locking cap is better at stopping the dribble than a locking cap, but that might not be an option that you want to consider??
Stepping stone or stumbling block...your choice

i have genuine splash shields available here in geelong & also original locking caps that will seal as good as original non locking type (unlike repro crap)
havnt had any issues with fuel splash if cap seal is as per original (& if your filler neck lip isnt damaged)
you possibly could fit some sort of baffle in neck i suppose if ya wanna go down the cheapo aftermarket type bodgie lock on cap

This can be fixed by buying a cheap lockable fuel cap from Autobarn etc get the rubber seal off the inside of that cap and fitting it to the Holden cap after removing the old cork gasket. I used one of the cheap caps as the rubber seal is fuel resistant.
The non locking Holden cap will also leak through the screw holes that hold the opener/handle on. I got some fuel resistant silicon and covered the screw holes on the inside. Worked a treat.
