GDay all.
Well, I finally got my refund (in full) including postage costs.
I went through Paypal and made a claim via paypal buyer protection. It took a while but I stuck it out and beat the bastards.
They (AT Racing world) must have lied to paypal and said that they had not received the item.
Paypal wanted me to prove that AT racing world had received it. I sent the tracking number and faxed them copies of my invoice/receipt. Mallison transport (an agent for Star trak express here in Adelaide) also faxed Paypal all their documentation proving the items had been returned and signed for. (Thankyou to Mallison transport for all their help).
So, Battle won.

Remember all. Stay away from AT Racing world and their affiliates. They will try and rip you of with misleading advertising, Non existant customer service and will go to any length in order to avoid paying a refund. They will try to blame you for their stuff ups. They will threaten you. Stick to your guns and you will beat them...
Thanks for all of the support from fastlane members.

Regards

Dave

Dont want to sound like a wet blanket but all major businesses have issues with customer service. Look at Telstra, TPG, eBay! Too many customers, too much stock, not enough decent employees to fill the demand.

I have never dealt with AT Racing but they are pumping out over 200 orders on eBay alone with 98.7% feedback (8 negative) Do they sell cheap Chinese gear or something?

I had my first negative feedback for ages and I dropped from 100% to 98.6% which by eBay standards makes me worse than AT Racing!!

But at the end of the day you have a right to complain so go at it and give it to em! I have had many a s*** fights over the phone with TPG. Im too a strong believer in "getting value for money"

Give em hell and make em think about putting on some more staff!

Hi Monaro traders. Most people get the product and its packaged nicely (most of the time) Unpack it and it looks fine (remember, these are marketed as "performance parts") and most who buy, probably 98.7% are not mechanics or performance engine builders. So they think, Ok, Item arrived quickly, looks good, Ill post positive feedback!!

Those 98.7% then fit the item to their engine or car, It either fits or it doesnt. If it fits it Then s***s itself after a couple of 1000kms. If it either s***s itself or doesnt fit, MOST TRY to contact these people (Welcome to the nightmare) with no luck. Those who just dont give up will then be contacted and told that you are wrong or fitted the item incorrectly, the mechanics are wrong or fitted the item incorrectly, the professional performance engine builder is wrong, or fitted the item incorrectly, everyone is wrong eccept them!
Of those who still persist (ebay resolution center and paypal insurance) You will be waiting 3-6 months before you see your refund.

As you would see from this pattern which shows that The feedback % on Ebay is missleading for this very reason (They have left positive feed back before the thing s***s itself or before fitting ill fitting item). MOST people will give up before they get to the refund stage and just cop the loss (cheap stuff) and that is what these mongrels rely on.
The forums are full of it. Go to Any car forum in Australia.
This ONE Bussiness takes up the most posts and replies on the forums on this topic (look at the number of replies to any thread on any forum about At racing world, Sydney speed supplies and Procomp (All the same people).
This is more than misleading % numbers or customer service complaints.
This is also about them knowingly and willingly misadvertising their products ) I know for a fact and have proof, that is why I got my refund + costs. They also associate and openly align themselves with top end products.
Their use of the Felpro, scat and MSD names is just an example. This is how they lure the novice, The poor who struggle for years on their project, people buying gifts, the ignorant, etc.
AT racing, SSS, Procomp prey on the vulnerable.
A class action is now being talked about by disgruntled ripped off customers.

So basically they sell cheap rip off items? I wouldnt know as I have never had anything to do with them.
My brothers mate is doing an engine for me and he imports most of the parts from the states.

After reading the amount of negative feedback here and on eBay about the guys mentioned, I dont think I will ever take the risk in dealing with them.

So another mini win mate, another lost customer.

Found this today.
Everyone who has had a bad experience with these guys (At Racing world, Sydney speed supplies, procomp should write a review on this site http://www.truelocal.com...speed-supplies/liverpool
The more we do, the less they get!

Hey,
Well, Im wishing i read this before buying from AT . Unfortunately i purchased a gilmer belt drive kit for a SB chev back in October but working all the time didnt have a chance to even pull it out the box till xmas break (today infact ) Only to find the crank pulley doesnt line up, the belt only goes onto the bottom pulley half way.So pretty much useless. I have emailed AT through ebay but after reading this im not holding my breath for a reply. Any one else bought one of these belt drives from them? Just curious if there is something else i could do with it to fit it on the motor. Or again, after reading this maybe its best to not even go any further and start the refund fight.

Cheers

Hey shaun DONT give up mate. Its typical of them not to contact you back. THEY NEVER DO. All you can do is try to ring them and hope you can get it resolved. Good luck and stick to your guns mate.
