opinions on v6 conversions and castle auto electrics for v6 into hz s/wagon conversion kit. who is a better organisation? who would you recommend?

I been thinking of this conversion myself. And think that the V6 is the way to go. They are cheap as hell, compared with around 2 grand for a V8 and gearbox set up. Plus for a Daily driver you couldnt ask for a better motor. plus there is the cheaper r

But remember you have to chop the subframe, there's engineers cert, run petrol lines to rear, change the emissions setup, get the electronics working, and I thinkl the conversion costs around 5 grand, naturally you can save by getting a motor and gearbox

Why do you need to cut the sub frame?? I thought with a modified sump it would be a bolt in application??

to set the scene: i've got the engine and box for free. but it's the mounts, sump and g/b crossmember, speedo kit and wiring kit needed for the conversion. Both Castle Auto electrics and V6 conversions have these kits for $1365 however what i need to know

The changeovers I have seen they had to cut a section out of the crossmember and weld a section in. I am not sure why but I guess the sump can't succesfully be modified. Maybe it's the position of the oil pickup. Actually I think they have to modify the s

The thinking behind the V6 is good. However I have to agree with the other guys, and recommend an injected 5-litre. You can pick a complete conversion up for $3000. You'll need to change the sump to a HQ-WB one, and use HQ-WB engine mounts. The ot

John, i think your thinking of a V6 into an old holden using a HR crossmember, the rod shop cuts the crossmember in the middle and sections it at an angle down towards the rear ?


the conversion for a HZ is really simple, it only requires the engine
