I've just put some new spark plugs in the kingswood (red 308 with electronic ignition off blue motor)but one has just shit itself again. I used NGK BPR5FS-15's for the electronic ignition, which ive been using for a while. Probly only done about 1000 kays on this lot. I've had the same problem before with NGK's but quite a few people tell me they are the best plugs for these motors/ignition systems. Any ideas as to why the plugs are failing. Its not the leads coz they are new and as soon as you put a new plug in it runs fine... any ideas.

Howdy,

What problem exactly have you had with the plugs? I have the same combo as you and have noticed that the centre insulator was cracked to bits on 6 out of 8 of the same type of NGK plugs that you are using.

If anybody could suggest anoth

I have always stuck with Bosch in my V8's. I used NGK a few times in my Torana and my VR and they both ran rough, so I went back to Bosch. I tried Champion once and once only.

yeah, the insulator cracks up real bad very quickly... i have had one with all the ceramic fall off as I pulled the lead off. May be worthwhile contacting NGk as sparky suggested. Cheers.
