I've asked again. Lots more Spam in the last few days, some trying to sell off-market pharmaceuticals.

Hi all. An update. Our Admin got back to me. I think it is now setup so that Moderators don't have to approve anymore, he added a Captcha for each post. Basics of the reply as per below. Can someone or a few reply to this, just ant to check that Moderator approval is no longer required.




Sorry, been away for a while. Just going through my emails.
What I have done today is put Captcha for each new post and reply. See if that fixes things.

I did read your previous emails about you approving the new users. Unfortunately only Admins can, so that's not possible.

Lets see how we go with today's change, and we'll decide further.

quoted your post as usual and won the bottom up popped a new thing -
Security Image with a Captcha code but a trap...
you cannot preview the post as the code changes and your get a warning
that the post is not approved

I'll ask for that to be removed. I wasn't sure if he did that part as well as the Captcha addition.

Moderation hasn't been turned off yet. I saw our Admin active on the site just now so hopefully he is doing it for me now.

Testing again!

I dont like the captcha requirement (its hard on the eyes) but I'll deal with it if it solves the spam problems.

edit: Post didnt go through moderation so I guess its fine?

Yes its working now. I agree that Captcha is a pain but it makes my life and other Moderators a lot easier. This also applies for new members trying to join, so scammers must work as a person rather than as a bot. Will cut down the garbage a lot I think.
