Here's a head scratcher for everyone.

Prior to LH and HJ, GMH used numerical model coding for each distinct model For HK they just used a single odd number model code, without distinguishing between 6cyl or V8 models like they started during later HK. So:

01 was Belmont.
03 was Kingswood.
05 as Premier.
07 was GTS.

HT and HQ model coding began during early HK where they separated 6cyl models into odd numbers and V8 into even. They'd already allocated:

11 and 12 to Premier & V8 Premier.
13 and 14 to Brougham / Deville and V8 Brougham & V8 Deville (there were at least export 81369's in HQ, not sure abou.
15 and 16 to Statesman.

So GTS327 got 18 as it was the next available even number. They also added 84469 as HQ Chevrolet 350 sedan.

When it comes to Torana they again used the odd numbers for 6cyl and used even numbers for 4cyl. SO for example:

22 was Torana 4cyl
23 was Torana S 6cyl
24 was Troana S 4cyl
25 was Torana SL 6cyl
26 was Torana SL 4cyl.

I'm not sure what they planned for 27 and 28 but 29 we know was GTR.

The question is, if they'd gone ahead and made the LJ XW7 (V8 GTR XU1) what model code would they have used? Was there anything obscure in GMH with a 3x coding? Coukd it have been an 83011 or 82811?
