Hi all, I am new to this forum and not sure how it all works, so excuse me if i am not on the riht page? Just wanted to say here that i have the original factory drawing office blueprits for the design of the '327' number badge and also the 'Chev and chequered flag badge' that goes with it. Genuine items and just wondering what sort of value these things are worth. They are the only ones i guess in existence. They are two separate very large folded up intricate blueprits from Holden. They also have the part numbers of the badges. I haven't photopgraphed them as yet as they are very large and folded so the less i open them up the less damage. But i will get to the photos once i get to clear the kitchen table! Cheers Mike

They’ll be US GM documents as that is where they were sourced. Same part numbers. |

Thanks for the response. They are Chev but also came from the GMH Woodville plant and that is stamped on them. Initially i assume sent here from the USA for the drawing office at Woodville. Both numbers of the badges are the same as Chev Impala etc Still nice items that would be as scarce as. Very interesting collectables i would think. Cheers Mike

Certainly would be. Potentially at Woodville for the body tryout process so they could make the templates for the drilling operations in the guards for Assembly Instruction Drawings. |

You are most likely right in saying that. I think that would have been what they were used for. Makes 100% sense. Amazing what intense labour and time went into just a badge drawing, without any other of the thousands of parts and parts books and advertising etc etc etc that would have to go through the initial stages before authorisation. Makes you wonder how GMH actually made any profit. But the Holden demise was i think more like employees wages and demands and GM didn't really care about us here in Ozz I live about 70 kms from the Elizabeth plant and almost shed a tear every time i drive past the old plant. Cheers Mike

Remember those badges would have been used on hundreds of thousands of Chevrolet and Pontiac vehicles, so the amortization of the design costs across all those is small. It also shows you why GMH used as many existing US parts as possible so there was no design costs. One look at parts catalogue for HK-HQ shows you how much there is. Even fasteners are in most cases existing North American part numbers. |

You are right there as i have a lot of clips here that are the same as Chev, even the FB Holden front door clips are Chev and carry the Chev number. One good thing, GMH followed the USA and not Britain. That would have been terrible, all Aussies in Vauxhalls, no thanks! Have a good day. Cheers Mike
