Does anybody on Fastlane know the PCD dimension for early Holden (FX/FJ) wheel rims.

That makes it 5 x 6 19/32 I think? Or is it the same as old Land Rover which is 5 x 6 1/2" which means the stud to stud measurement is actually 3 13/16 (just means you are out by 1/16" AL). Landrovers used a 5/8" stud IIRC.

Terry, I read on a Landrover forum that landrover, Morris Commercial and "FX"/FJ Holden are 5 on 6.5" PCD (165.1mm)

this info ( I just checked ) is NOT in the original GMH 48/215 or FJ service/repair manuals I have
nor is there any info about replacing the wheels studs (front or rear)
... curious that!

Exactly & my reason for asking the question in the 1st place. I couldn't find it in any GMH literature & believe me I have a ton of it.

On the topic of wheel stud PCD, have you noticed that the FE to HG (& Torana) PCD was always quoted as 4.24 inches & not 4.25 (which is a more logical imperial 4 1/4 inches).

I had seen that too Terry and thought WTF? Its even in the Engineering Technical Specs: 5 stud 7/16", 20 UNF 2A thread, 4.24" PCD.

no recollection of the outcome as to the why.. why so

but I do remember a silly bit of trivia from that topic, HB Torana is exactly 4.000" Dancing

Yeah, HB to TA 4-cyl Toranas were 4 stud @ 4.00" like a lot of other Pommy cars of the era. When I talk about Torana I often forget about the little Vauxhall ones.

I was part of that discussion & yes it did "rage". Most thought it was a misprint, but my point was that was a lot of misprints in a lot of different manuals over several decades. Man, now that's a misprint.

It came up again elsewhere on GMH-Torana Terry.

I still reckon it’s a perpetuated error. Otherwise it’s a crazy stud pattern like 4 31/128”.

Do you have any VH docs showing the 4cyl PCD?

VC, VH (and VK too) 4 cyl model steel wheels ... all 5.5 x 13" are the same part
number as on UC Torana if I recall this right from my days of checking GMP&A catalogues
first off prints (lots of people in house at GMH were asking this same question when VC came out)

I have no doubt the wheels are essentially the same. I was just wondering if they revisited the specs when changing the stud threads and specs to metric. I also thought 4cyl Commodore wheels didn’t have hubcap clips?

my recollection, (I was given a * VH SL version to drive to Acacia Ridge on one work visit ) is they sorta had .. several bumps in the middle circle pressing of the wheel centre so
GMH fitted a horrid plastic hubcap to VC 4cyl Commodores ( though they fitted UC 6cyl Torries with steel wheels with a plastic hubcap and 4cyl Sunbirds a sort of shiny metal cover)

The base SL VC and VH 4 cylinder cars got a centre cap (retained by the wheel itself) again like the 4cyl Torana


*this thing.. manual 4 cyl with aircon was the only car I have driven in the country flat out WOT
never get caught speeding... up a hill with aircon on it would gradually lose speed, a down shift
was needed to go up a rise or hill on the Hume !

I'm not sure about the hubcap nibs, but I believe that the Commodore rims have more offset than the Torana ones.
