I have joined today to find a character called "Les" who appears to be answering a lot of emails about adjustments to Rare Spare Parts.

As I have had a lot of trouble adding to and fabricating EH floor pans because they are made too short on the rear of the pan. All EH floor pans tilt backwards hence the water sits and rusts out the back of the Floor pan.

Here is one of delicious ironies of those who made them... They put lots of extra floor pan lip on the topside away from where it gets rusted out.

But the rear of floor pan where the rust eats the floor pan therefore it needs to be cut out and restored it is short by two inches... (5cm).

I wish the person whom designed the floor pans had more experience in Knowing what is Needed in restoring floor pans in cars.

SO I have signed up today to find this Guy called "Les" and ask him to retool the floor pan please. Lengthening it by 5 cm so it includes the rear rise into the seat area.

Then just 1 minute ago, I come across "Dr Terry" (whom I know) and I read (yesterday SAD NEWS - "Les" passed away...)

Hows that for dog gone luck.... When I finally get around to finding and asking the right guy he pops his Clogs just hours before.

ANYWAY, Lets all thank "Les" (Les McVeigh) for (I believe this to be correct) was a cofounder of Rare Spares and the marvellous work he has done in assisting all of us to relive a bygone era, and restore our dreams...

God Bless Les.

Peters, Thanks for your thoughts and comments on Les who had just celebrated 40 years of Rare Spares. His funeral tomorrow (Friday June 10th ) will be a gathering of the many he knew over the years.
As to your concern about the floor pan sections this will be discussed with our own Press shop and replied to in the next few days.

Dear Tour Director,

Greatly appreciated your responses... LOVED hearing that the floor pans may be extended on the rear side near seat as that's the side that gets eaten away with rust...

Greatly appreciative...

thanks again...

I am a fan of Rare Spares and over the years have spent lots there...

Give our love to the family and friends present on Friday (tomorrow)...

cheers

Peter,
We have reviewed the Floor pans, as stated previously, and no changes are planned for the tooling. These rust repair sections have been made the same for many years from a very strong and solid tool here in Melbourne. To modify it is not warranted.
