Hi, just wanted to get some opinions on getting a WB 1 tonner, (chassis and cab) sand blasted. The cab is in good condition with minimal rust. Is sand blasting the best option? Any info appreciated

Walnut shell or bead blasting with plastic media is the best. Sand is fine for thicker materials, chassis, suspension components etc. Sand can be used, but a decent operator is needed to not warp the panels.

I've never tried it, but I'm told you get good results using BAKING SODA!!!!
Might be best to try it out on an old panel first though.

Crushed walnut is great for mag wheels/alloy parts, but maybe too mild for panel work.
Remember you need a surfa

If you buy one of those $30 sandblasting kits you can run them at 100 psi, you need at least a 15 cfm compressor or it takes all day, but 100 psi wont damage your panels.

Hi Scott, What town or city do you live in as some have a paint stripping its like a big tank that they dip your body in and it removes all the paint and as for the chassis a good snndblasting with sand is the only way to go as you cant hurt those chassis

Call Custom Bead Blasting in Sunshine. They did my van shell and hangons and my mates ute shell. Very happy with the results. I wouldnt chemical dip the body as it removes all paint/seam sealer from inside box sections and its very hard to replace. 30 yea

HZ van shell, fitted to a rotisseri so floor pans could be blasted as well as the complete outside, 2 doors, upper tailgate, 2 front gaurds. Then a coat of etch primer, $1000. Was about $800 to do the same, but a HX ute shell.
