I am getting some new springs for the old girl. The question is with standard springs what is the distance from the wheel centre to the top of the wheel arch? I need this figure as i suspect standard springs will be too high but if i get lowered springs they could be too low as well. Thanks in advance.

If you are going to a suspension dealer...let me know. I have just had my HQ just done, with much stress. I depends on the books these people use. I had mine set lower (2nd attempt), and it came in on spec, with the Holden manuals.

What brand and height did you settle on? I am looking at some king springs at the moment.

I went pedders....helpful folk...cant say cheap, but the Q was in a pretty "arrgggh" state.

Kings or Lovells are the best in my opinion.
Best handling in an HQ (without resorting to RTS) is 2"-2 1/2" lower than standard.
