Hi,
Wanting to know the original tyre size for a v8 wagon. Particulary the hg. Online research suggests 7.35 x 14" on a 5" rim. Is this correct and standard for all v8 wagons? Does that size equate to a 195/70/14 ?

It depends upon the wagon.

Standard tyre for HG V8 Belmont and Kingswood wagon was 7.35 x 14 4 cross ply, with L (Rayon) performance rating on 5" rims.
Standard tyre on HG V8 Premier wagon was basically the same thing but with white sidewall.

There were a lot of tyre options too, including D70 4 cross ply hi performance on N66 rims.

Try here:

http://www.exploroz.com/...cle/Tyres/SizeCalc.aspx

It says 7.35 x 14 is equivalent to a 185/100/14

Thanks for the reply HK1837,
But if sedans came out with 6.95 inch tyres (185/75/14)then 7.35 would be 195?

No idea, you'd have to look up on a tyre size converter chart.
