hey guys,

was packing up to go for a trip the other day, fired up the hz and after about 4 seconds of grumbling it turned off and burst into flames.. all from around the carby.. stopped the fire pretty quick with a blanket and some water, don't think there is heaps of damage apart from to a few fuel lines etc..

going to get a new air box & filter (old filter is fused to the box), and i've got some more hoses to chuck on... my plan is to drive it about 2-3k to my local mechanic so he can have a look at it, figure out what caused the fire, fix it up etc.. question is, is this a suicidal idea? will the carby be full of soot and s*** and hate running at all? cheers
