2005 Deniliquin World Record Ute Muster

The only dogs allowed at the Deni Ute Muster…

World renowned Dein Perry’s TAPDOGS!

THE larrikinism of six blokes performing a tap dancing routine in blundstone boots will reflect the character of the Deniliquin World Record Ute Muster. They are rumored to make a spectacular, highly secretive entrance to the event, prior to their greatly anticipated performance.

Although this year will be the first experience at the muster for the performers, they are keen to be involved in the record breaking weekend. Festival co-ordinator Kate Pitt approached Dein Perry because she felt the Tap Dogs would really fit into the Festival culture; as their performance had been labeled the human version of a V8 ute.

"Having these performers at our festival will be unbelievable - it will give many people from rural Australia an opportunity they may not otherwise have had, to see them perform,'' Kate Pitt said.

The Tap Dogs emerged from Sydney ten years ago after Perry contacted some old friends with an interest in tap dancing, and proceeded to take the world by storm with their tap show combining the strength and power of workmen with the precision and talent of tap dancing.

The group has performed at the Sydney Olympics opening ceremony and was immortalised with the release of the motion picture, Bootmen, directed by Perry and inspired by his Tap Dogs experience.

Promoter Michael Chugg said ``While most Australians would be unaware of the extraordinary global impact that Tap Dogs has made over the last decade, the name is as recognisable overseas as Crowded House or Kylie Minogue,''

Over the last ten years, it is estimated that over 12.6 million people have seen Tap Dogs and they have worn out more than 5026 pairs of Blundstone boots and 22,678 Capezio tap plates!

The group aims to thrill the ute muster crowd with their unique style, and tricks of the trade. They are hoping to incorporate some basketball numbers and use angle grinders for sparks.

The 2005 Deniliquin World Record Ute Muster kicks off on Friday September 30 until Saturday October 1.
