Saturday the 17th of June, saw the first Race of the “Fast Lane, J&S Airconditioning, Westgate Bobcat Hire and Northern Plaster Board Camira”.

With some 120 cars entered from the Mitsubishi Lancers, to Minis, Datsun 1600's with 6 cylinder Holden engines to specials with Rover V8's in them; the Fast Lane Camira was in fine company. Thankfully competing for class honours; a sterling job was done by the Camira and its crew.

Having 5 runs over the afternoon and into the evening, under lights, the times were very respectable; especially considering the team had never seen let a lone competed in the Maffra/Sale area.

The night went without a hitch, with only a red Laser performing an acrobatic roll over. Only a few missed corners and 2 flat tyres that were quickly fixed sat the Fast Lane Camira well up in its class if not victorious (official results are still pending).

An excellent crowd was in attendance and the Fast Lane Camira generated its fair share of public interest and comment.

The next outing is to be Sunday 9th July at Avalon Geelong. The Maffra race results will be in the next correspondence.

Congratulations Joseph Eletva and your team on a great start to the season.
