gday all anyone had this problem i turn the key and the starter motors makes a buzzing sound the motor will not turn. turn the key off turn it again and the car starts .when it starts the starter turns fine so battery seems ok .i've changed the solenoid on the starter and still does the same. any ideas ??? |

I had a different problem with a Delco starter, not cranking when hot. I'd let it cool down for 1/2 an hour then it was fine. The issue was resolved by fitting a relay into the starting circuit. Solved my particular problem instantly & been starting fine for 20+ years now.
I know yours is a different issue, but none the less, installing a relay into the starting circuit will ensure full 12v gets to the starter. Any decent auto spark will be able to sort the bits &/or install if needed.
Ignition switch will also be under significantly less load.
Remove the relay & car wont start, another hurdle for the unscrupulous turds out there too.
I suppose it's a permanent set up of what Prem350 is talking about. |

First thoughts were voltage- I've seen plenty of relays "buzz' and it's usually voltage. But it starts OK on the second go. And you've replaced the solenoid. I wonder if it's not something in the crank circuit- ign switch-wiring?. I'm going to assume the starter is OK.
I'd be disconnecting the wire from the ignition switch to the starter and replace it with a jury rigged wire from the battery to the starter, via a switch.And crank/start the engine that way as a test. No reason you could'nt leave the jury rig in for a day or two. If it behaves, the problem is somewhere in the circuit from the igniton switch to the starter.
