In the first quarter of 1998, the Chrysler Voyager blitzed the
opposition to take the number one position in people mover sales.Voyager has been a
roaring success since its release in March last year. Current year-to-date sales figures
have the Voyager well ahead of its rivals. According to official industry statistician
Vfacts, the Voyager has sold 451 units for the first quarter of 1998. In comparison, the
Honda Odyssey sold 356 and the Toyota Tarago 355.
Voyager is powered by a potent but economical 3.3 litre V6 engine mated to a four-speed
automatic gearbox. The engine has the impressive outputs of 116 kW of power at 4700 rpm
and 275 Nm of torque at 3250 rpm.
With these outputs, the Voyager offers the most power and torque in its class even
though the Honda recently repowered its Odyssey in an attempt to catch the spritely
Voyager.
Safety is another big plus for the Voyager. Standard equipment includes ABS brakes,
driver and front-seat passenger air bags, headlight leveling system, height adjustable
seatbelts and side intrusion beams.
Specified as a true luxury vehicle, the Voyager boasts among its standard features
air-conditioning, power windows, central locking with remote entry, vehicle immobiliser
and cruise control.
Commenting on the success of the Voyager Chrysler Jeep Australia's Managing Director,
Mr Bill Needle said: "The Voyager has proved to be a great success for us. It is a

drives like a car has the ability to haul loads and even tow a caravan or boat."

,it can also be used as a
multi-function vehicle: "The Voyager has the versatility to quickly transform from a
seven seat people mover, to a five seater or a two-seat van with enormous carrying
capacity. This added to its excellent value for money has endeared it to a wide variety of
buyers," he said.
To make the Voyager even more attractive. Chrysler is offering a special finance deal
until the end of this financial year.
From now until the end of June 1998, Voyager will be available for just $150 per week

the total business market in the people mover sector.
The Chrysler Voyager retails from a low $46,800 and is covered by a three year/60,000
