31st July, 2001New model offers greater protection against roo-strikeShu-Roo Australia have released a new model, with 30 per cent improved performance, for the Australian automotive market. The Australian-designed Shu-Roo is designed to do exactly what its name suggests: deter kangaroos and other wildlife from roads, so there is less chance of a vehicle colliding with the animals. Cars emit low-frequency noise that is not easily heard by wild animals, but Shu-Roo takes advantage of the animals high frequency danger alert system to warn of the approaching vehicle. The wildlife are alerted and move away from the road. Shu-Roo creates a pattern of high frequency sound for 50 metres on each side and 400 metres ahead of the moving car. It can't be heard by humans, but to kangaroos it sounds as loud as a police siren. The unit creates a 400-metre "safety zone" at night and in daylight, and also when it is raining. Shu-Roo units are essential for vehicles travelling in country and outback areas, and are compatible with airbag equipped vehicles as well as those without airbags fitted. The upgraded Shu-Roo features one model with two speaker units for cars, motor bikes and smaller vehicles, and another model that is larger and boasts four speakers, making it suitable for 4WD vehicles, trucks and coaches. Shu-Roo Australia have used lightweight injection moulded speakers that are easy to mount and visually attractive when fitted to the vehicle. A remote panel, suitable for under-dash or on-console mounting, is within easy reach of the driver. Ring Shu-Roo Australia Pty Ltd on 1800 671 759 for the name of your
