Dubbed as the "Invisible Windscreen
Wiper", Pennzoil-Quaker State Australias Rain-X automotive glass care
product range is truly revolutionary.
Editor's Note: But not exactly new. I discovered this stuff in a roadhouse in
the middle of nowhere, during a heavy storm, about 10 years ago. I still use it.Rain-X
has gained wide acclaim both locally and internationally as the original glass treatment
range for
vastly improved windscreen visibility, an essential contribution to safer
driving.
The micro polymer emulsion formula found in Rain-X products is the first real
innovation in glass cleaning technology. It works like an invisible windscreen wiper by
repelling rain, sleet and snow on contact with all vehicle glass including side and rear
windows, external mirrors and headlights.
How does Rain-X work? The transparent polymer coating fills the pores of glass with
inert molecules that are chemically bonded to the surface to make rain, sleet and snow
"bead up" and roll off. This process also reduces the adhesion and build up of
frost, salt, mud, insects and road grime - giving the driver clearer vision at all times.
Totally unaffected by sunlight or temperature, Rain-X resists soaps, solvents and car
wash detergents, is totally invisible and non reflective, and will not crack, peel or
discolour.
It can be applied as often as necessary as it bonds to the surface - not to itself, so
there is no build up. Therefore, it is also not necessary to remove the old Rain-X
coating. A fresh application simply fills in the voids and rejuvenates the previous
treatment.
Rain-X is also durable, with the life of each application depending on the frequency of
vehicle and wiper use. Application frequency has been estimated at monthly intervals for
windscreens, with side and rear windows requiring treatment every two to three months.
When Rain-X is regularly applied to maintain peak performance, the harder that it
rains, the better the product works. At highway speeds Rain-X provides outstanding
clearance and visibility - even without the use of wipers.
Interior glass fogging and steaming is also a safety hazard, particularly during night
driving. Rain-X has also developed a break through product to solve this potentially
dangerous impairment to a clear view through windscreens, rear windows and mirrors.
Rain-X Anti-Fog is a highly effective water activated polymeric composition that
absorbs moisture, clearing glass and mirrors instantly. Rain-X Anti-Fog works by imparting
a micro-thin invisible layer of moisture absorbing molecules that are extremely resistant
to condensation. Easy application means that seemingly endless waiting to clear fogging
and steaming vehicle interior glass becomes a thing of the past. This product eliminates
the unpredictable build up of steam and fog on interior glass and mirrors.
From ready to apply towelettes, to 103ml and 207ml handy glove box sized containers,
Rain-X is available in the size and package to suit every motorist. These choices in
packaging ensure that all user needs are catered for, from individual one off application
users, to users responsible for the maintenance and safety of a fleet of vehicles.
As Rain-X is one of the vast range of Pennzoil-Quaker State Australias automotive
consumer products, marketing manager Monique Wilson believes that this product will become
even more popular with motorists in the future.
"The Rain-X range consists of unique products that dramatically improve driving
visibility," Ms Wilson said.
"Feedback to us from consumers actively using the product has been excellent. We
look forward to promoting the Rain-X range more aggressively in the future as we believe
that this product is a necessity for enhanced road safety."
