Goodbye sore heads, hello Max-Lift

When it comes to our cars, there can be few things more annoying than a bonnet that won’t open properly or, worse still, a boot-lid that keeps hitting you on the head.

It’s the inevitable result of years of wear and tear on the gas-filled struts designed to help open and hold up engine bonnets, boots, hatchbacks and station wagon tailgates.

And, according to Peter Goodrich, product manager for Monroe Australia, it’s no coincidence that these problems become more evident in winter.

“Over time, the gases inside the strut can eventually dissipate,” said Peter.

“The problem isn’t so noticeable in summer as the warmer weather makes the gases expand and masks the gas loss that has occurred over time. However, when the colder weather arrives the gases contract inside the strut and they become less effective – and that can mean more sore heads.”

The answer to this by Monroe, the makers of Australia’s most popular shock absorbers, is the Max-Lift.

Designed to fit hundreds of cars on Australia’s roads, the Monroe Max-Lift is filled with high-pressure inert gas and features Teflon piston sealing for years of trouble-free usage.

“It can be very annoying and inconvenient – even somewhat dangerous – to have bonnet, hatchback or tailgate struts that aren’t working effectively,” said Peter.

“However, fixing the problem is simple with Monroe Max-Lift. The Max-Lift is designed to withstand the rigours of many years of use in all seasons.”

Monroe Max-Lift is available through all good auto parts outlets across Australia.
