New packaging makes oil choices easier

A NEW range of petrol engine oils in user-friendly packaging, designed to simplify selection of the correct lubricant for your car, has been released by Caltex Australia.

“Extensive market research has gone into the design and information featured on the pack,” said national lubricants manager Gavin Tory.

“The labelling and packaging of the new Caltex Havoline range will take the customer confusion out of selecting the right oil for a vehicle.

“The new packaging is also designed for easier pouring and outlines clearly the type of vehicle for which the oil has been specifically formulated.”

The Caltex range of engine oils will be available through the national network of Caltex and Ampol service stations and from selected auto accessory stores.

Flagship lubricants in the new Havoline range incorporate the latest in engine oil technology and all products employ packaging and graphics designed for ease of user selection.

At the top end of the range, 10W-50 Synthetic and 10W-40 Semi Synthetic Havoline lubricants offer maximum protection and performance.

In fact, Havoline Semi Synthetic has won additional performance recommendations from Mercedes Benz and Volkswagen.

10W-50 Synthetic and 10W-40 Semi Synthetic Havoline lubricants also satisfy the latest API (American Petroleum Institute) SL specification for petrol engines, preferred by consumers because of the potential to reduce engine deposits and decrease wear in a wide range of vehicles.

The 10W-30 Havoline Premium Plus also meets the stringent API SL specification and provides all round protection for the latest engine technology, particularly late model Toyotas, Fords and Holdens from 1997 onwards.

Havoline Premium 20W-50 provides all round protection and performance for vehicles from 1980 onwards. Havoline Premium is the “off the shelf” engine oil used in the Stone Brothers Racing Ford V8 Supercars driven by Russell Ingall and Marcos Ambrose.

Havoline Multigrade 20W-50 is also available. The oil offers an economical alternative to Havoline Premium for vehicles manufactured prior to 1993.

The SG grade 25W-50 Havoline Classic, is specifically formulated for pre-1988 vehicles and helps in controlling high oil consumption in worn engines.

The SL Specification 20W-50 Havoline LPG which rounds out the new range is especially suited for LPG and dual fuel engines.
