Toyota has upgraded its full RAV4 3-Door and
5-Door range to offer improved passive safety, more
low-down torque, improved economy, enhanced feature
levels and lower NVH.Safety improvements include a new body design, to meet the latest crash safety tests, including 40 percent offset barrier at 60kmh. RAV4 has front seatbelt pretensioners as standard equipment, with new force-limiting seatbelts on models equipped with dual airbag SRS and ABS. Body strengthening includes increased use of high-strength steel, reinforced body side members and front bumper reinforcements. Exterior differentiation includes a new front mask, with new grille, bumper, multi-reflector type headlamps, indicator, clearance and tail lamps. There is a new range of eight colours and new designs for both steel and alloy wheels. RAV4 3-Door has a recommended retail pricing of $25,810 (manual) and $27,810 (automatic). RAV4 5-Door has recommended retail pricing of $27,990 (manual) and $29,990 (automatic). Improvements to RAV4's interior include new seat materials, a three-spoke airbag SRS steering wheel, a new-look instrument cluster panel and a 120W power outlet in the rear of the cabin of the 5 door. Engine improvements include the adoption of Toyota Direct Ignition, lighter pistons and connecting rods, revised combustion chamber and a revised intake system. RAV4 is offered with the choice of three option packs; The `power pack' includes power windows, mirrors and wireless door lock. `Cruiser pack' includes colour-keyed mirrors, bumpers and side cladding, wireless door lock and alloy wheels. The RAV4 safety pack, available in combination with the power pack or Cruiser Pack, consists of ABS anti-skid brakes, dual airbag SRS and force-limiting seatbelts. |
