Toyota Australia has released a new
limited edition of its mini-car, the Starlet 3 Door.
Starlet
Max offers enhanced styling and a CD player at a value-for-money price, with over
$1500 in additional features for only $500 more than the price of the 3Door Starlet Life
model on which it is based.
Only 400 units will be produced.
The limited edition features unique five-spoke European alloy wheels, a rear sunshade
and Starlet Max decals, while inside the cabin, the Max offers a single CD player.
Four colours are available - White, Bluish Silver Metallic, Dark Green Mica and Super
Red II.
Toyota expects the Max to appeal to small car customers who place a high emphasis on
individuality and CD quality sound.
The Starlet Max with manual transmission is available for the driveaway price of
$14,490 including air-conditioning.
Automatic transmission will add $1,500, and power steering is also available as an
option.
Toyota Starlet Max is powered by a 1.3-litre multi-point EFI-equipped Twin Cam
multivalve engine producing 55kW of power and 112Nm of torque.
Starlet was upgraded earlier this year for increased safety, comfort and feature
availability.
It now has a stronger body, improved ride and handling and improved interior features.
The vehicle was designed to meet Toyotas Global Outstanding Assessment (GOA)
passive safety standards.
It meets occupant protection requirements in excess of those demanded by local
authorities,
Starlet is now fitted with an electronically-controlled drivers airbag SRS as
standard equipment.
