New insurance service going on-line

Honda Australia is introducing a new on-line insurance service, called – wait for it  -  Honda Australia Insurance.

Designed in collaboration with Swann Insurance, it offers three new services – Honda customers Motor Vehicle Comprehensive, Shortfall and Consumer Credit Insurance.

Honda Australia Insurance uses a world first on-line system that allows Honda Dealers to arrange insurance for customers from a specially designed website.

Designed by Insfin, the on-line system is provided to Honda under license through Swann Insurance.

Honda Australia Insurance offers customers competitive cover – vehicles with less than 100,000km and up to three years old will be replaced in the case of a total loss. Most other insurance policies only cover vehicles up to one year old.

Policy holders are also covered for genuine Honda parts for vehicles up to eight years old – other policies provide cover on vehicles up to five years old.

Honda Australia Insurance policy holders are also able to choose their own repairer and are not required to pay an excess if they are not at fault.

According to Honda Australia’s director of sales & marketing, Tony Devers, the new service will benefit Honda customers and dealers alike.

"Together with Honda Finance, Honda Australia Insurance will provide a ‘one-stop shop’ for Honda customers and further enhance the Honda brand by providing easy, competitive service," he said.

Honda Australia Insurance will be available at Honda dealerships from January 1, 2001.
