 Top dealer award goes to NSW – again
Damelian polishes another trophy

New South Wales Honda dealership, Rick Damelian Honda, has been honoured with the coveted National Honda Dealer of Year award  for the second time.

Dealer principal, Rick Damelian, received the 2001 Dealer of the Year gold-plated trophy from Honda Australia managing director Kenichi Abe at a gala dinner in Melbourne.

Damelian Honda first won the award in 1999 – the same year the dealership officially opened its state-of-the-art complex in Sydney.  And the multi-franchise dealership appears to have developed a liking for such awards, with Rick Damelian Saab recently collecting Saab’s Pinnacle award as dealer of the year for 2002.

The dynamic Honda dealership also won the New Car Sales Excellence award for New South Wales, along with the Overall Excellence award.

Believed to be the largest Honda car dealership in the southern hemisphere, with a 92-metre glass frontage, the Rick Damelian centre includes a sophisticated service complex, Ric’s Café Restaurant, a fully equipped gymnasium, a squash court, a library complete with internet facilities and high-tech multi-media conference facilities.

Honda Australia director, Lindsay Smalley, said Rick Damelian Honda was a shining example of how modern businesses have evolved with a clear focus on customers and their needs.

“The sales, services and parts operations are cleverly synchronised to provide an extremely high level of customer satisfaction,” said Mr Smalley.

The Overall Rural Excellence award went to Queensland’s Rum City Honda.

The Overall Excellence award for Queensland was won by former Dealer of the Year, Austral Honda. In Victoria, the winner was Robert Lane Honda, while in Western Australia, the trophy went to Prestige Honda. Greg Crick Honda won the award for the Central and Southern Region.

New Car Sales Excellence awards went to: Garry and Warren Smith (Vic), Ireland Honda (Qld), Prestige Honda (WA) and Greg Crick Honda (Central and Southern Region).

Parts and Accessories awards: Rolfe Honda (NSW), Robert Lane Honda (Vic), Rum City Honda (QLD), Prestige Honda (WA), Nordic Honda (Central and Southern Region).

Service Excellence awards: Rolfe Honda (NSW), Travis Honda, Frankston (Vic), Austral Honda (QLD), Burswood Honda (WA), Dave Potter Honda (Central and Southern Region).
