12th February, 2001Frankston dealer wins highest accoladeTravis Honda of Frankston, Victoria, has been named as Honda Australias 2000 National Dealer of the Year. Dealer principal David Travis received the gold-plated trophy from Honda Australia managing director Kenichi Abe at a gala dinner in Melbourne at the weekend. It is the first time the trophy has been awarded to Travis Honda and adds to regional awards the dealership has collected during the awards nine-year history. During its 15-year association with the Honda dealer network, Travis Honda has gone from strength to strength, building a strong customer-focused team and recently expanding operations to include a second premises in Mornington. Honda Australia director sales & marketing, Tony Devers, said Travis Honda was not only successful in meeting sales targets, but was strong in business development and customer care. "Travis Hondas efforts to develop a strong customer focus from the very grass roots of the business are commendable," he said. "Honda applauds David and his team for a great effort." The Overall Excellence award for New South Wales was won by former Dealer of the Year, Rick Damelian Honda. In Victoria, the winner was Travis Honda, while in Queensland, the trophy went to another former Dealer of the Year, Austral Honda. Western Australia s Overall Excellence award went to Prestige Honda and Dave Potter Honda won the award for the Central Region. A strong performance in 2000 helped Greg Crick Honda win trophies for Tasmanian Overall Excellence and Overall Rural Excellence. Regional New Car Sales Excellence awards: Austral Honda (Qld), Rick Damelian Honda (NSW), Robert Lane Honda (Vic), Dave Potter Honda (Central) and Burswood Honda (WA).
