In 1999, Audi in Australia will continue its
pattern of dynamic growth with the introduction of several new models and new model
variants to the existing vehicle range.Managing director, Matthias Seidl, said the
company's aggressive launch plans for next year would strengthen Audi's position in the
prestige vehicle segment, and would continue to build the company's public image as a
market leader among German luxury marques.
"These model introductions will also assist us to bridge the gap in sales volume
between our traditional competitors, Mercedes-Benz and BMW," Mr Steidl said.
"In Western Europe, Audi already outsells BMW and it is our long-term goal to
match this overseas success in Australia."
Following is an indication of new Audi models planned, along with estimated market
launch timings for 1999.
