 Subaru has been awarded two NRMA Best Car
awards for its Forester and Impreza WRX models. Based on
outstanding driving satisfaction and value for money,the
Forester won the Best Small Medium Car segment and the
Impreza WRX won the Best Sports Car under $55,000
segment.The Forester's victory in the Best Small/Medium Car segment is unique as this segment has traditionally been won by cars such as the Honda Civic. However the All-Wheel Drive Forester provides the best of both worlds combining luxury city motoring with affordable recreational off road driving to an extent not previously achieved by any vehicle. The NRMA describes the Forester as "a beautifully engineered, practical wagon. Its four-wheel drive capability comes at absolutely no cost to refinement, ease of driving, manoeuvrability or on-road performance". "Constant all-wheel drive, well sorted suspension, strong brakes and excellent steering give the Forester dynamics and driving enjoyment levels well above most conventional hatchbacks and sedans", confirmed the NRMA. The adrenaline packed Impreza WRX four-door sedan is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 2.0 litre engine with a torque output rivalling engines twice its capacity. The NRMA describes the WRX as having "the equipment of a luxury car and the performance, handling and braking of a thoroughbred sports car, the Subaru Impreza WRX is a car of extraordinary versatility". Like the Forester, the WRX has standard All-Wheel Drive which gives Subaru vehicles safety advantages on all road conditions including wet and slippery roads, bush tracks, and gravel slopes. The success of the Forester and Impreza WRX has contributed to strong sales for Subaru across their entire range of vehicles. The Forester monthly target of 225 vehicles has been shattered by unexpected high demand of approximately 350 vehicles per month. Subaru achieved record sales last month of 1,712 units, including record sales for the Impreza, Impreza WRX and Forester. The Forester and Impreza WRX are available in either five-speed manual transmission or, for complete ease of operation a four-speed automatic. Priced $26,990-$33,490, and $39,990-$42,290 respectively, the vehicles are great value for money vehicles. |
