Yokohama has announced its Australian
Tyre Dealers of the Year at its annual National Dealers Conference in Canberra. The
awards recognise the top Yokohama dealers in each state and were judged on a range of
criteria including professionalism, business ethics, business presentation and marketing
and customer service.
Dealers were also judged on their performance against budget projections for tyre sales
and had their customer service and presentation skills tested by mystery shoppers.
According to Yokohama Tyres Mr Alan Bradshaw the awards are important in recognising
the efforts our dealers put into improving customer service, professionalism and the
business overall.
"All of our dealers around the country have made terrific gains throughout the
year and the five state winner who were selected were the standouts," Mr Bradshaw
added.
"Yokohama Tyres is proud to recognise tyre dealers who have achieved their
business goals and built a strong and well run tyre dealership," he added.
The five state winners were:
Ernie Nicholls of Action Tyre Service in Southport, Queensland
John Dawson of Dapto Tyre Service in New South Wales
Robin Bowles of Geelong Tyre Service in Victoria
Tony Pearce of The Mag Wheel Centre in Prospect, South Australia
Terry Thomson of Thomsons Tyre and Brake in Malaga, Western Australia.
It has been a big year for Yokohama dealers with the launch of a number of all new
tyres to its range including the S760 and the high performance S1-z as well as the
Geolandar range of off road and four wheel drive tyres.
"Our new tyres have helped lift our dealers performance and with more new tyres
being added to the range throughout 1999 the performance can be expected to improve even
further in the coming year," said Mr Bradshaw.
"Winning the Yokohama Tyre Dealer of the Year is important to all the state
winners in promoting their businesses and motivating their staff, because it demonstrates
they are professional and they are dealers who know their business, " he added.
Yokohama has more than 250 dealers across Australia, covering every state and territory
from the major cities to the most remote outback areas, from Kununurra to Biloela and
Meekatharra.
