Limited Edition 9-3 coupe and sedan break luxury barrier

Saab Australia is celebrating reduced GST car prices with Limited Edition extras for its 9-3 TS Coupe and S Sedan, to create what it claims represents the best value luxury car in Australia at $49,990.

The Limited Edition extras for the 9-3 TS Coupe and S Sedan add full leather trim, Automatic Climate Control (ACC) air-conditioning and power sunroof to the already high level of specification on both these prestige Saab models.

These Limited Edition extras bestow the Saab 9-3 TS Coupe and S Sedan with all the luxury features and performance expected of a premium European luxury car, but without the silly price tag.

On top of leather trim, ACC and power sunroof, standard equipment on the 9-3 TS Coupe with Limited Edition extras also includes: cruise control, power windows, CD sound system, remote central locking with immobiliser and integrated anti-theft alarm, Saab car computer, heated front seats, 16-inch Viking alloy wheels and complete sports body kit.

Plus, of course, Saab’s leading levels of safety with anti-skid brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Saab’s whiplash-preventing Active Head Restraints (SAHR), front airbags, side airbags and integrated cabin safety cage.

Power comes from a smooth and responsive low pressure turbocharged 2.0-litre engine delivering 113 kW of power at 5500 revs and a peak 219 of torque at 3600 revs.

"The Saab 9-3 TS Coupe and S Sedan with Limited Edition extras blend luxury equipment, performance, comfort and safety at a price unmatched by their luxury car rivals," said Saab Australia’s national integrated marketing manager, Ray Webb.

Saab has secured less than 200 of these 9-3s with Limited Edition extras from Sweden, and expects all will be sold quickly.

"People have been holding off buying luxury cars until the GST benefit was clear. Not only has Saab lowered the price of all its 9-3 and 9-5 Series models accordingly, but we’ve reinforced the 9-3’s value-for-money position with these Limited Edition extras," said Mr. Webb.

Saab’s comprehensive range of 9-3 Series and 9-5 Series luxury cars have fallen in price by between 3.8 per cent and 6.7 per cent (depending on the model) as a result of new GST pricing. This translates into GST savings of between $2845 and $4016 across the entire Saab range.

The Saab family of luxury cars was completed earlier this year with the return of the popular Aero across the entire 9-3 and 9-5 Series.
