Mazda Motor Corporation today unveiled its new
generation MPV at the New York International Motor Show.
The stylish people mover offers a host of
new features including fully operational power windows in the rear sliding doors
the first time this has been offered in a minivan.
As well as this, it has a highly versatile interior which allows for the removal of the
second and/or third seat rows to create massive interior load carrying space.
Due for launch in the US on July 1, the new MPV is powered by a 2.5 litre V6 engine
which drives through an electronically controlled four speed automatic transmission.
Designed in Mazdas Hiroshima studios, the new MPV offers exceptional visibility
over the short sloped bonnet and through the tall side windows.
The
characteristic "five point grille floats Mazdas new logo in a
central position and is flanked by large multi-reflector lights.
The US model is offered in three specification levels and provides 10 storage spaces
for the needs of front seat passengers and "a multitude of cupholders."
Australia will see the new MPV in September and it will be similarly equipped to the US
vehicle.
